Z-z-zestimate?


"But Zillow says ..." are the words that many (most?) Realtors HATE hearing out of clients mouths. Excellent marketing and a fantastic interface on Zillow have somehow led the general public to believe that a "Zestimate" is what their house is actually worth. The funny thing is, when you click on the explanation of what a "Zestimate" actually is, they still suggest to get a true valuation of your property, you should be:

  • Getting a comparative market analysis (CMA) from a real estate agent

  • Getting an appraisal from a professional appraiser

  • Visiting the house (whenever possible)

I agree! Listen to an experienced Realtor and let them share with you how to price your home correctly to get it sold quickly.

VERY IMPORTANT FACT: Zillow FUNDAMENTALLY...at it's very CORE...is a lead source that some Realtors pay for. Notice all ways to contact Realtors next to each listing you look at. Refresh the page and WHOOPS, a whole new set of agents to call! Those folks are paying $400/mo or more for that zip code to cycle through about 50 other Realtors, hoping that you'll click on their name so they can follow up!
