ABOUT ME

1967: BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS

I was born in Boston, Mass back in the summer of 1967 and was raised in the town of Wayland, 30 minutes outside the city.  I have 3 sisters, 2 of whom now live in Florida and 1 is still sticking it out in Mass with 2 kids!  Many of my customers end up being from New England (friends of the family who have since referred me on to their friends and so on!) but I get along with everyone, even Yankees fans.  Occasionally I have a hankering for a Maine Lobster Roll in the summer or watching the leaves turn just before Thanksgiving!  I graduated from college with a Political Science Major and after 5 years working in Cambridge, MA, took that degree to NYC...to study creative writing.

1994: NEW YORK, NEW YORK

Soon after arriving in NYC, I realized that I stunk at creative writing and switched over to Photography. To support my darkroom hours and film habits, I ended up getting a full time job in staffing (Human Resources) where I learned the importance of finding the right person for the right job.  Very close to the same skills when finding the perfect home for your customers!  I'd like to say that I had a Carrie in Sex and The City Lifestyle but the closest I got was some good friends and some weird dating stories...and no where near the fabulous shoes she had!  New York was fun but I found I was feeling a little ragged around the edges.  The cold winters and the over all gray landscape made me look South, where the winters would be kinder.

2001: MOVED TO SARASOTA, FLORIDA

My parents had since moved from Wayland to Naples, Florida, about 90 minutes south of Sarasota so I used them as a base to check out where I wanted to live.  I looked at Naples (not enough people under 40 at the time and way too close to my parents!), Fort Lauderdale (interesting but still too "East Coast"...don't ask, once you move here, you 'get it'.)  and even Miami (just a warmer NYC...way too crowded, too much traffic and expensive!).  Some family friends, who just bought a house in Sarasota, told me to come visit and check it out.  After driving around and doing some research, I knew I found my new Home Town!  I flew back to NYC, packed up my apartment.

2002: STARTED CAREER IN RESIDENTIAL REAL ESTATE
